case in point, one of my favorite meme trends… “Drake the type of guy…” memes

For clarification, I am speaking about a series of fan-written factoids that are presented as the personality traits of the Canadian rapper Drake, originating from a 2011 tweet, that reads, “Drake the type of dude that let his woman propose”. This initial fad died off, but was later resurrected on instagram and tiktok in 2021.

Typically iterated in the form of tweets, comments, and image macros, the meme trend is meant to poke fun at the rapper, depicting him as cartoonie, effeminate, and beta af.
