  • A Few Reflections with Coralie Hafner
    Feb 15 2021

Welcome back for the 7th episode of Girl2GirlPodcast, a weekly show created to break down barriers in the way women discuss and engage in real conversations. This episode I celebrate my birthday week with a short and sweet episode, sharing some reflections I have had over the past year.

2020 has been a strange year full of challenges and surprises with a pandemic that threw a wrench in any plans that I may have had. I reflect on feeling stuck in a season of grief and how life moves on ahead whether you're ready or not.  Grief and life go hand in hand and the more life you experience the more grief that comes along.

I reflect on the past decade, mentioning illness, death, infertility, miscarriages, the unraveling of my personal life, divorce, losing and finding God. Recognizing that in the midst of those things there has been a lot of goodness: marriage, babies, friendships, a new home, accomplishing goals. However the most significant thing that I have realized is the importance of coming into my own.

Life takes time and everyone’s timeline is different. It's easy to compare yourself to others, even your closest of friends, but we have to step back to see that we are all living life in our own ways and it's okay.

Friendships evolve over time and life ebbs and flows in the midst of those relationships. But learning that when you stick with a group of friends or particular relationship, the ebb and flow becomes more still.

It's okay to let things go, relationships, jobs, beliefs. Ultimately over the years I have realized that I have always been in the palm of God's hand. He gives me choice and ownership for my actions that affect my life in different ways for good or bad. But I am always able to return to the place I have never left.
