In her book, Daddy's House, Mildred Mills is an example of fortitude, faith, and determination, never giving up in the face of what seems like impossible odds. This book encourages anyone who has ever had roadblocks and setbacks to persevere and rise above their situation. The book also reminded me of the duplicities of growing up in the rural south during that period, stinky pig pens, out houses, and chicken coops, yet the sweet smell of honeysuckle vines.
