    Kailyn Shalosky is joined by "First Circle" literary magazine Head Editor Nathan Wehr and front-page artist Amelia Shaffstall, to discuss why providing a platform for students to express themselves through words and art is important. Nathan discusses his perspective as the Head Editor and queer man and how he worked to provide a safe space not only for his team but the entire campus. Amelia gives advice for other queer artists aspiring to be seen by something bigger and how being chosen as the front-page artist.

  • Giving Voice: Women's Empowerment

    Kailyn Shalosky is joined by Women Empowerment Club President Kena Miller and Muskingum University Chaplain Rev. Derek Wadlington to discuss why we celebrate Women’s History Month, and how we all can support women empowerment. Kena discusses the transition of the club's name change from the Women in Politics Club to the Women Empowerment Club, as well as events that are happening on campus. Being the youngest of four children with three older sisters, Chaplain Derek talks from an ally perspective about how men can always support women, not just during Women’s History Month.


    The Women Empowerment Club meets every other Wednesday in the Chess Center, Room 318. They can be found on Instagram @womenempowerment_mu.

  • Giving Voice: Keeping Black History Relevant

    WMCO Program Director Kailyn Shalosky is joined by Teasia Jones, Korey Robinson, and Muskingum University Chaplain Rev. Derek Wadlington to discuss the importance and relevance of having a Black Student Union (BSU) and recognizing Black History Month on campus.

    Jones discusses her experience of jumping into the presidential role as a first-year student, and Robinson explains why having this organization on campus is important to both Black students and allies. Wadlington talks from an ally perspective about being willing to learn about those who are different.

    Jones and Robinson are executive board members of the Black Student Union at Muskingum. The Black Student Union meets every Thursday in the Chess Center, Room 304. They can be found on Instagram @the.bsu.mu.
