  • Beachin’ NOT Teaching
    Aug 3 2022

It’s the summer, so why are you thinking about teaching? The Glitter Girls are here to tell you why you should be glittering up and working on your tan lines instead of planning out your classroom. It’s that time of year to take inventory of your life and check in with yourself to decide if you still choose what you do.

The girls reveal major changes they are making. They’ll reflect on what brought about these transitions in their lives and what they want to see happen from here on out in their education working environment. They’ll build on the great teachings from Sesame Street for making changes and taking steps to do things differently.

  • The Parent Said What?!
    Jun 15 2022

In this episode, the Glitter Girls vent about parents' insane requests and the complaints they hear while teachers are just trying their best to take care of their kids plus the 15+ more in their classroom. You’ll hear why these teachers think toxic parents are the worst part of the job. These are the parents who are not reading Parent’s Magazine.

And while your kid is doing his or her best to get dirty and spread their germs all over the school, teachers are trying to save enough energy to go home and take care of their own children and family and sometimes, they’d even like to find time to be sexy with their partners. The G-Girls talk about how they try to maximize their time so they can enjoy days off and precious time away from the kids.

  • Planet Teacher: How We Got Here
    Jun 1 2022

Find out how the Glitter Girls all arrived here on Planet Teacher and reveal why they aren’t leaving. When they weren’t bouncing quarters off their asses, they were gathering the inspiration to become teachers even before they realized it. They’ll talk about how they chose to concentrate in early childhood education and why it takes a special person to do what they do.

Sunny J went from being a stand-up comedian and Alvin Ailey Dancer to getting her master's in teaching and riding it out for 18 years as an educator. Luna B talks about getting through the rigorous process of the Teacher Fellows program. Starry T shares how her mom inspired her to love children and how she learned how to deal with people and get organized with her hospitality background.

  • The Kid Said What?
    May 18 2022

Sunny J, Luna B, and Starry T are sharing the memorable stories of what the kids have said to them. All day long, teachers are subject to the brutal honesty of the kids they teach. Whether you didn’t get to put your makeup on, or you got dressed in the dark, or you put on a couple pounds, kids will tell you what they think.

You’ll hear about the stolen breast milk incident, the nose ring debacle, and a few other quips from their unfiltered students. There’s never a dull moment. But you’ll hear why these ladies love what they do despite kids’ ability to notice everything!

If you have a good story about what the kids or even any of your faculty co-workers have said to you, find the Glitter Glue gals online and share it @glitterglue_teacher_podcast or visit glittergluepodcast.com.

  • Peanut Butter and COVID
    May 4 2022

Welcome to the teacher's lounge, where a can of tuna and chickpeas is enough to send anyone to hide in their supply closet. The teachers are back to dish on the challenges of just trying to get a good lunch break. Not only are you subjected to the smells and attitudes of co-workers, but when you try to take care of yourself and eat healthy, you have the well-meaning parents gifting mountains of chocolate to the point that you don't even like chocolate anymore. And how hard is it to get a good salad bar within a decent proximity?

Reach out to the Glitter Girls @glitterglue_teacher_podcast to tell us about the biggest FU you’ve gotten while just trying to provide nourishment for your body. And be sure to tell us about what the psycho ate for lunch today.

  • Do You Use Protection?
    May 4 2022

Some days teaching is like being punched in a masked face! Welcome to the first episode of Glitter, Glue and a Daily F You with Sunny J, Luna B, Starry T, who’ve created this space to vent and heal from the daily F YOUs that happen in every teacher’s workday. This debut episode is all about protection and not the sexy kind. Nobody’s got time or energy for that.

You’ll hear how these courageous ladies go about shielding and protecting themselves from the toxicity and stress that can interfere with life outside of school. They’re sharing self-care tools like yoga, deep breathing, Peloton Porn, and $5 Margaritas. You’ll hear about different ways to say “No” to people and things that don’t bring them joy.

When you find yourself dreading Monday already on a Friday, find out how you can build a shield of protection so you don’t turn into an angry martyr, giving and giving, until your vagina (or penis) falls out. They’re here to promote self-care and awareness to those who are doing their best and giving all that they can give. And never forget, leggings are pants!

  • Glitter, Glue & a Daily F You - Trailer
    Apr 18 2022

Teachers, are you sick of giving until your vagina falls out? Or until your balls fall off? How are your personals doing in this profession? Has your drive gone to Key West without you?

Then this podcast is for you.

We are Glitter, Glue and a Daily F You- a teacher podcast. We are the Glitter Girls, living on coffee, trying to get off cake pops and onto kale.

We discuss our day-to-day F YOUs where you drop dead inside from the multi-tasking insanity that goes on in the teacher workday. We discuss the pretzel-like back-bending that goes on because teaching means please the kids, please all the parents, SEITS, student interns, subs, colleagues, coaches, and admin. Most days you are starring in an Indiana Jones movie only it never ever ends. 2022 is where we speak out, speak up, grow a pair, and take to the mic. Glitter girls speak the truth of what it’s really like to be a teacher during these disrespectful, trauma-heavy times. These last few years showed system failure all over the place and we teachers just want to say to all the powers that be and be not- we are GREAT at what we do and you’re f*ing welcome everyone!!!

Your hosts, Sunny J, Luna B and Starry T are three shiny, tortured yet excellent teachers covered in slime, and red paint still paying dues and tying shoes.  We are growing carrots in our classrooms and giving you the dirt. We share our teacher stories on the playground after being hit with 50,000 dodgeballs. We talk about balance- how to find it, steal it, have it, be it. We are pulling toys out of noses but still smelling the post Covid roses. We are answering 1800 emails a day about Susie’s missing glove and we are still full of love. Our stories are pre-Rona, others are in the shove it up your nose height of Rona. We discuss growing your soul back after you solve 1000 problems a week.
