Lisa Graves, a legal expert who has carefully tracked these actors for decades, reveals the dark money and special interests behind the cases manufactured for the Court. • Trailer: Introducing Grave Injustice with Lisa Graves
    May 6 2024

Ahead of the Supreme Court handing down decisions on several critical cases this summer, a new limited series podcast breaks down what’s at stake. Hosted by legal expert Lisa Graves, the series explains the cases, examines how they connect to larger attacks on rights and freedoms, and exposes the decades-long right-wing capture of the Supreme Court. The podcast is produced by pro-democracy digital news network COURIER and Court Accountability, a judicial research and advocacy organization.

Each episode will do a deep dive on a different issue and the relevant cases before the court, including reproductive rights (FDA v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine), voting rights (Alexander v. South Carolina State Conference of the NAACP), gun violence prevention (United States v. Rahimi), and more.

Host Lisa Graves, one of the nation’s foremost experts in exposing how special interests distort public policy, brings her extensive knowledge to the series. Graves is the founder and Executive Director of True North, a national investigative watchdog group that shines a bright light on the dark money fueling regressive agendas targeting vital institutions in our republic, such as our courts.

  • A Right-Wing Conspiracy Overturned Roe, Then Came Back for More.
    May 9 2024

The Supreme Court of the United States is now on the cusp of a decision that could decide the future of the medication. The case is FDA v. the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine.

In the first episode of this limited series, hosted by Lisa Graves, Grave Injustice charts the path of this case to the high court and uncovers the actors and groups behind the scenes that manufactured it and what else they have in mind.

  • Should Violent Domestic Abusers Be Allowed to Possess Guns?
    May 16 2024

The US Supreme Court will soon be deciding if violent domestic abusers can legally own and possess guns. Unfortunately, you read that right…

The defendant in the case United States v. Rahimi is clearly a violent individual. In 2020, a judge issued a restraining order against him on behalf of his ex-girlfriend after he threw her onto the pavement of a parking lot, dragged her into his car, and then shot at a bystander he noticed nearby. The restraining order barred him from possessing firearms. Still, he carried out five different shootings around Arlington, Texas. After all that, cops searched his home, found guns and ammo that he wasn’t supposed to have, pressed charges, and Rahimi was convicted. It was an open and shut case - until it wasn’t.

Listen to find out how the Supreme Court kicked the door open for a violent individual such as Rahimi to potentially legally own and possess guns. In this episode you’ll hear from:

    • Ruth Glenn, survivor and President, Survivor Justice Action
    • Shira Feldman, Director of Constitutional Litigation, Brady United
    • Kelly Roskam, Director of Law and Policy, Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions
    • Dominic Erdozain, author, One Nation Under Guns: How Gun Culture Distorts Our History and Threatens Our Democracy
    • Angela Ferrell-Zabala, Moms Demand Action
