Today’s guest, Susan Seaforth Hayes, is a highly popular and beloved actress who is, of course, best known for her longstanding portrayal of “Julie Williams” on the hugely successful daytime drama series, “Days of Our Lives”, for which she has received 6 Daytime Emmy Award nominations. In fact, she is the only actor to have appeared on the show for ALL SEVEN DECADES that it has been on the air.

She is also well-known for her recurring role as “Joanna Manning” on “The Young and the Restless”, and as "District Attorney Patricia Steele" on “Sunset Beach”. In addition, our guest has appeared in dozens of other TV shows including “The Loretta Young Show”, “Hawaiian Eye”, “The Young Marrieds”, “The FBI”, “Dragnet”, “Ironside”, “Matlock” and many more.

Our guest and her dear husband and co-star, the mega-talented and multi-award winning actor, the late, great Bill Hayes, whom we lost last January, were without question, television’s greatest love story, appearing as Doug and Julie Williams on “Days of Our Lives” for over 50 years, which was definitely the longest running romance in television history.

They became the very first – and still remain the only - soap opera actors in the world to appear on the cover of Time Magazine in its January 12, 1976 issue. And this superstar couple have written 2 best selling books – a novel entitled, “Trumpet”, and a memoir entitled, “Like Sands Through the Hourglass”, which is widely considered to be the best book ever written about daytime television.

They also hosted the wonderful website, SOAP OPERA SECRETS DOT COM. And in 2018, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences presented our guest and her husband Bill Hayes with Lifetime Achievement Awards at the 45th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
