‘I was standing there looking at the house when all of a sudden, a couple of books came flying across and hit the window. It was so sudden. I heard the noise because it was so quiet, there was no traffic, and it made me jump. Then after a little while, I saw … Janet. I don’t know if there’s a bed underneath that window, but she was going up and down … in a horizontal position, like as if someone had got hold of her legs and back and was throwing her up and down’. ‘On Thursday 1st September 1977 at approximately 1 a.m., I was on duty in my capacity as a policewoman, when I received a radio message to 284 Green Street, Enfield. I went to this address where I found a number of people standing in the living room. I was told by the occupier of this house that strange things had been happening during the last few nights and that they believed that the house was haunted.’ (WPC Carolyn Heeps)

Short Haunts – Does Darkness Follow?

Is it possible for a person to actually manifest paranormal activity into our dimension, giving spirits or entities the energy they require to break through that thin veil into the world that we share?

This Short Haunt shines a light on listener Gary’s experiences – who no matter where he visits and lives, he always seems to encounter an entity. Our last 'From The Vault' episode before Season 6 launches on Friday 6th September.

‘Making sure their parents were asleep, the two 17-year-olds quietly left their homes with their tent, sleeping bags and other bits and pieces, and drove to a secluded spot. At around midnight, they'd found the perfect place to camp, so began pitching their tent and getting comfortable. It wasn't long after this that they both thought they heard something moving around in close proximity to their tent … They kept still and quiet, and continued to listen, but this was when the sounds of movement changed into the sounds of very definite footsteps ... there was someone in the forest with them.’

'Tis the season to be jolly.....and also the season to tell spooky stories, and the cases of the missing 411 are definitely creepy. In America, tens of thousands of people go to national parks to enjoy the scenery, wildlife and the awesome experience of being in the presence of amazing natural beauty.

But over the course of over 100 years, many people have simply vanished into thin air whilst visiting these beautiful tourist attractions. Only a handful of bodies have ever been found, and those have some very disturbing and strange facts connected to their discoveries.
