  • Solo Reflections: 25 Episodes of Growth and Learning
    Jul 30 2024
Hello everyone, I'm Chadia the host and founder of this podcast. This episode marks a point of reflection as we reach the halfway mark of our first year. I launched this podcast in January 2024, something I'd been thinking for a long time. Last fall, I was laid off from my job but eventually they rehired. Yes I know that’s a story for another time. During that challenging time, I decided to start this podcast. I've been incredibly blessed by all my guests; their willingness to share their stories each week has been amazing. During these conversations, I've learned four important lessons: 1. Being pregnant can be so difficult; it's important to advocate for yourself. If needed, build your own team to support and advocate for you, especially when you’re in labor. 2. There's no perfect family; build the one you want. Social media is not real, be confident in your own choices. 3. When you give birth, you have one foot in your coffin and one foot in this life. In one second, everything can change for you or your baby. I know this is dramatic but if you had a baby, you know exactly what I’m talking about. 4. And lastly You are not alone. My goal is to remain consistent with weekly episodes for at least a year. I hope this podcast is helping someone out there, as it has certainly been a source of healing for me, helping me through my own difficult pregnancy and birth experience from 3 years ago. To those of you listening, thank you for tuning in every week. I see you. To my guests, thank you for sharing your stories. We now have 25 episodes available, and honestly, I didn't think I'd make it this far. This is amazing. We'll be back next week with a new episode If you want to share your story, send an email to podcast@helloitsmystory.com. Stay connected with us on Instagram at Hello, It’s my story. Thank you for being part of our community. Remember, you're not alone on this journey. Until then, take care of yourself and those around you. Au revoir!
