    I thoroughly enjoyed this longer chat with NaMu as we discussed astrology, numerology, birth charts, seeking mental health help when you are in the Black community, PTSD, how the moon phases may affect our moods, and so much more! 

    NaMu is a New York Native who is currently based in the Poconos. She has been studying Astrology and Numerology for several years. She is an intuitive reader and offers reading services! NaMu is a huge mental health advocate specialist and is working on having her own holistic herbal marijuana & CBD medicine business to help individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD & other mental disorders.

  • High Friends! E107: Julien educates me about working in the grow industry, strains, smoking devices & how he navigates this space as a Black man

    High Friends! welcomes our next guest Julien Batista for Season 1, Episode 07!

    Julien Batista, is 30 years old and was born in Rockville, MD. He was raised in Columbia, MD where we met while attending Oakland Mills High School.

     Batista has been working in the cannabis industry for 2 years, specifically in the grow department, and he is currently running the Integrated Pest Management department. Julien is passionate about sci-fi, cooking, dogs, and anime!

    This episode was extremely enjoyable for me because I was educated on terms, concepts, strains, effects and  certain processes like obtaining a medical marijuana card in Maryland! Julien is well-versed in the cannabis industry, and it's been beautiful to see his skills evolve over the years.

    Kenita Nichols is an independent producer committed to promoting the heritage, identity and future of Afrikan people. She specializes in authentic content culturally synonymous with the global black community.

    She is the recipient of a Primetime Emmy Award for her work on Shark Tank for Outstanding Structured Reality Programming.

    Kenita has produced documentary features for Netflix, Amazon and clients like Conde` Nast. Her experience lends itself to talk shows, game shows, court television and reality tv.

    This episode was an absolute pleasure to record and I am so happy we were able to discuss topics like how to forge genuine connections, re-parenting ourselves, courtship and what we seek when inviting others into our lives.

    High Friends! welcomes our next guest, Christian Henley for Season 1, Episode 05!

    Christian  is currently living and working in Los Angeles after receiving his BA from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.  Christian currently hosts a podcast called 'BIG TALK with Christian Henley' , where he skips the small talk and speaks with guests about deep, meaningful topics!

    Along with the work he does on his podcast, Christian has gotten recognition in Los Angeles, when he was nominated this year at The Micheaux Film Festival for one of his bodies of work! The Micheaux Film Festival is a multicultural film festival that focuses on BIPOC creators and celebrates diverse representation in the entertainment landscape.

    His series, 'What Do You Do?' was nominated and put him on the map in Los Angeles. On 'What Do You Do?', he speaks with guests about...what they do for work! His series spotlights diverse guests who give the ins-and-outs of their career field and explain exactly what they do in their roles. This series is a very helpful tool for others to see what careers are out there, so they may gain new information which will help guide them on pursuing fields that may bring them the most joy!     High Friends! On this episode, I welcome my dear, Atlanta-based friend Fifi Abebe to the podcast, where we smoke and open up about how we've learned to approach certain things like dating, shadow work and finding the time to spend alone. 

    Fifi graduated from the University of Georgia, with an international affairs and economics major and has most recently worked in the tech industry. Since the start of the pandemic, Fifi has had more time to nurture her passions for social justice by advocating for community-based mutual aid and education.
