We return just in time for the celebrated “pro sports equinox", that special sliver of the year when the big four pro sports leagues are all in action simultaneously. These last few weeks demonstrated some parity in the NFL, with all of the major contenders for the Superbowl suffering some puzzling losses. KC struggles in the high altitude of Denver. Was it Taylor Swift’s fault for not showing up? (Heresy!) The Niners are in the midst of a 3-game skid, and their bye week couldn’t come fast enough. With a puzzling loss to the Jets, a dismantling of Miami, and a squeaker over Washington, Philly needs to pick a lane. In baseball, chaos reigns as the World Series features a match-up of two wildcard teams. Texas looks to finish off Arizona to earn its first ever title, and Corey Seager seems on pace for his second World Series MVP. And, finally, the NBA season is off and running. Chef Curry is showing zero signs of aging, Wemby worked a little magic with a crazy 20-point rally to knock off Kevin Durant’s Suns this week, and the Harden experiment is finally over in Philly.

The Commanders sent the Broncos spiraling down a Sean Payton parachute dreamscape, the Cowboys make quick work of the Zach Wilson redemption tour, the 49ers outclassed the Rams despite a resurgent Rams offense that is more frisky than people thought,, the Bears look destined for disaster as they’re left reeling after an 0-2 start and the QB is calling the offense predictable, the Chargers once-again Charger in their loss to the Titans, the Chiefs right the ship on the road against Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars, the Bills annihilate the Raiders, Arthur Smith and the Falcons squeak by the Green Bay Packers despite head-scratching coaching decisions that nearly left them in the lurch, and the Seahawks outlast the Lions in a game where no defenses were harmed in the making of this NFL production.
