  • MYOPIA vs INTELLIGENCE PART I: The only important chicken vs egg story
    Jul 28 2024

The origins of life and love and sight and who we are, all questions we have had about the universe. Well today we answer the one question we all had once and didn’t dwell on (but we did), and that is the contentious link between myopia (short sightedness) and intelligence.

The sound recording is unfortunately less than optimal because the individual tracks were lost (sabotage for being too hot by the universe I'm sure) so we have tried to do the best we can with the audio from literally the phone recording. So please be nice, we tried our best and that’s literally all you can ask of us.

Anyway enjoy our chats on whether the length of your eyeball impacts how smart you are, and how complex and nuance conversations on intelligence are to even have at all.

References below if you too have myopia and at least an inflated sense of intelligence (yes that’s tongue in cheek)

  • TATTOOS PART II: Ink your skin with Hot Science to win BIG
    Jul 21 2024

Welcome to the second part of the tattoo ep! If you are new here please kindly listen to the first one to get an 'ink'ling of what's in that dye, and how tattoos even stay in our skin!

Too tattoo or not too tattoo that is indeed the question that we intend to answer in this weeks episode of Hot Science!

What is a tattoo, what is in the dye, how does it stay in our skin and are there any potential repercussions that could mean we are up stream with only the image of a paddle to get us out.

We talk a whole lot and were way too jovial for it to be considered rigorous academic debate, so instead we are calling it a rigorous stick and poke the science around with a very small stick attached to a needle.

Personally enjoyed editing this episode as much as I did recording it, and you will notice the most abhorrent additions of random guitar to spice it up. If you hate it, keep it to yourself and send me a bunch of flowers to get the message out there, but if you loved it please tattoo the episode link onto your forearm to show you’re a real fan, or if that level of commitment is testing the inner playboy in you just rate and review (5 stars only…).

Enjoy and stay hot (and tatted) science.
