Direct primary care is an increasingly popular option for covering the cost of medical care. It’s an agreement you make directly with your provider and it doesn’t use insurance claims. Typically, this type of membership covers the cost of routine screenings, management of chronic conditions, and acute-care visits. But, If you have a Direct Primary Care plan, you may also need a high-deductible health plan to cover the cost of emergency or hospital services.

We thought it would be helpful for our listeners to have a conversation with both a Direct Primary Care Physician and an expert in the health insurance world to better explain how these two things can best work together.
