The Nebraska Spring Game was a success in many ways. On this episode of the Doc Talk Podcast, Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice take a deeper dive into the scrimmage and what there is to build off of heading into Summer workouts and Fall camp.

Of course, all eyes were on Freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola. He performed with poise but he will also be pushed by Heinrich Haarberg and Daniel Kaelin. For the first time in a long time, it appears the Huskers have lots of depth at the quarterback position, something that is a must in today's Big Ten conference and college football.

March has been a whirlwind month for the Nebraska athletic department, marked by significant changes at the helm. The departure of Trev Alberts, who left for a position at Texas A&M, came as a seismic shock to many - from those within the athletic department to the wider community of Nebraska and Husker fans nationwide. His move was swiftly followed by the announcement of Troy Dannen's appointment as the new Athletic Director, arriving from Washington, signaling a new era for Nebraska Athletics.

The impact of Alberts's departure cannot be understated; it was a moment that reverberated across the state and amongst the Husker faithful far and wide. Yet, amidst this change, the mission remains unwavering for those at the heart of Husker Athletics: to forge a path of success on the playing fields and ensure financial robustness. Trev Alberts leaves Nebraska for Texas A&M. It is a move that almost nobody in Nebraska saw coming. Beginning his career as a quarterback at Nebraska, Veland climbed the depth chart to earn the top spot before an injury sidelined him at the start of the 1993 season. But Veland's story didn't end there. A natural athlete, he made a pivotal decision to switch to defense, a move that contributed to two consecutive national titles for the Huskers under the guidance of coach Tom Osborne. His talents didn't go unnoticed, leading to being drafted by the Denver Broncos and a subsequent Super Bowl victory.

Despite facing adversity, including a gunshot wound in 2011, Veland's passion for football remains undiminished. In our interview, he shares personal anecdotes about his experiences on and off the field. Today, he imparts his knowledge as a coach for the Warren Academy, a youth development league founded by former Husker Steve Warren.
