Maybe as a child you thought your abuse was your fault. Maybe you think you are coping with what you have gone through, without needing to tell anyone. Maybe you feel “ok”. Karen thought all these things. But 36 years later, when a triggering situation brought her past crashing into the present, she realised that talking was her best option. She tells us how “opening up about my abuse allowed me to feel again”.
