Everyone seems to be leaving academia, so let's explore reasons why that might be with three academics who have recently left academia (one of whom came back!). They are Drs Kaolina Urbanksa, a Senior R&D Psychologist at the Chemistry Group (thechemistrygroup.com), Jade Pickering, Head of Customer Success at Gorilla (gorilla.sc), and Ian Hussey, a meta-scientist based at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany.

Rejection. It happens to us all, whether applying for a grant or submitting a paper for peer review. Yet, despite rejection being part of academia, academics (me included) can find rejection very difficult to cope with. To talk about issues surrounding rejection and how to cope with it, I am joined by Dr Dan Quintana (@dsquintana) and Prof Siri Leknes (@sirileknes).

We cover the barriers and support that open science presents for feminist researchers at the junior stages of their academic careers before touching on the idea of Impostor Syndrome and how it can have shortcomings as a term to describe self-doubt in academia.
