  • 332: Your colour questions answered about wardrobe
    Apr 26 2024
I seem to have a full wardrobe but nothing matches. I have no plan when doing shopping My biggest challenge is a lack of time and although I have managed to have a big edit in my wardrobe of late, I really struggle to know how to put outfits together that work naturally. I struggle with simplifying my wardrobe. I know what I look good in, but I want to look good in other styles so I buy them and never wear them because they don't fit my lifestyle.

  • 331: Your colour questions answered about 8 shape body, feminine dressing style and body shape quiz.
    Apr 12 2024
I struggle with my mid-section. I believe I'm an 8 shape. I'm lean with an hourglass shape with a slightly wider high hip. I'm always trying to hide my tummy and I'm sure of how to look long and lean. My main problem is that I hide my femininity. My biggest challenge right now is this: I have had a rapid weight gain with hormonal and adrenal disruption (hello menopause and stress). My body is different. Nothing fits. I’m not sure if this is temporary or my new body.

In This Episode 0.08 I love ALL colors, but having too many clothes in my closet is overwhelming and then I don't even go in, how do I create outfit formulas using colour palettes? I have been draped a spring, a soft autumn etc. But I have trouble with many of those colors. I don't seem to look good in any of the yellows or oranges. It's very frustrating. Anyway, I have settled on grayed soft light colors and charcoal. Which don't supposedly go on redheads although I'm 65 and mostly white/ivory with a sprinkling of red now. I have done the Pinterest collection to find my style, made graphs to determine my lifestyle wardrobe needs and done my closet clean out. What I have not been able to do is put together outfits from my remaining clothes (not much left). In addition, I have recently put on some weight. I have had trouble shopping for a number of years now and even when I was at/near my goal weight/% body fat because I have been doing CrossFit for ten years. My upper arms have always been larger and now are larger from working out, my upper legs as well. So, fitting sleeved shirts and sadly jackets/Blazers are a huge challenge. Also, getting pants to fit my thighs definitely means the waist has to be altered I don’t want to go shopping for these I also would like to buy clothes that are of decent quality at a reasonable price but don’t know what stores to go to in order to meet my needs for fit, quality and price. • 326: Your colour questions answered about practical dressing, elevating your wardrobe and rediscovering your style.
    Oct 27 2023
In This Episode 0.07 My biggest challenge with my style is my job, I’m a kindergarten teacher so I tend to have an uninteresting casual work wardrobe (jeans, cropped pants, merino trackies (winter) and dresses (summer) because I don’t want to spend too much money on items that could easily be ruined by in a flash by dye of paint. Sometime a pair of jeans only last a day before I need to wash them because I come home with paint, playdough, sand or clay on them. I dress fairly casually but like a feminine top and struggle on balancing my work wardrobe within my general wardrobe and end up mixing them together. I really struggle to choose layering items, with everything feeling more ‘stand alone’ . Practical Dressing https://insideoutstyleblog.com/2022/03/personality-style-practical-lifestyle.html https://insideoutstyleblog.com/2023/07/how-to-look-stylish-yet-be-comfortable-practical-attractive-and-interesting.html https://insideoutstyleblog.com/2022/02/how-to-dress-the-active-classic-professional-mum.html 3.05 I've fallen into a rut. I wear all black basics. Would love to know how to elevate and accessorize classics and maybe add in some small, wearable trends while still looking polished. Elevate Your Wardrobe https://insideoutstyleblog.com/2022/06/how-to-make-a-classic-and-structured-outfit-softer-and-more-alluring.html https://insideoutstyleblog.com/2023/08/15-ways-to-elevate-your-wardrobe-and-your-style-celebrating-15-years-of-inside-out-style.html https://insideoutstyleblog.com/2020/11/how-to-throw-on-an-outfit-in-minutes-and-have-nailed-it.html 6.08 My biggest challenge is I don't have a size that works for me on a regular basis. I'm 68 and retired. I spent my last 30 years of work as the assistant to the registrar at a Community College. I had a professional wardrobe, and dressed sharp every day. When I retired 7 years ago, I gave away my "work clothes" to a women's shelter. I pictured myself in athletic wear, for the duration. Then, 6 months after retiring, I got breast cancer. That was an experience that took me to the brink and back. That was 6 years ago. That experience aged me, and I'm trying hard to do everything right to prevent a recurrence. Now, I have a disconnect with how I look on the outside and how I feel on the inside. My belly has gotten soft and I can't even hold it in. I have an "H" shape and back flab. I don't enjoy shopping for clothes because when I try on jeans, for instance, they fit great everywhere, but I can't zip them up. If I buy ones I can zip, they look horrible and unflattering everywhere else. I really want a casual wardrobe that includes jeans, shirts, sweaters, etc. Can you help me? I don't know where or how to start. When I worked, I had a wardrobe based around neutrals, mainly, that I could change up with a cardigan, blazer, scarf, etc. Rediscovering Your Style https://insideoutstyleblog.com/2023/08/unveiling-your-new-signature-style-embracing-change-with-elegance-and-comfort.html https://insideoutstyleblog.com/2023/07/finding-your-sense-of-style-rediscovering-and-refining-your-fashion-identity.html https://insideoutstyleblog.com/2020/09/wardrobe-transitions.html If You’d Like to Define Your Style and Discover Your Colours If you’re sick of wasting money on clothes that don’t work and you know there is a better way, then join my 7 Steps to Style program and get the right information for you and your style.
