The Medial Woman is an archetype of the feminine psyche. She is a mediator. She embodies the wisdom of the in between. She is immersed in the collective unconscious, translating between the material world and the spiritual realm, between the rational and the imaginal, between life and death. Her task is to bring this collective content into the world through her own deep knowing — often experienced through sensations in her body, visions, voices, and dreams. 

This intuitive feminine archetype was once revered in seers, medicine women, herbalists, alchemists, midwives, priestesses, and healers. Her place in the modern world is much less clear — though we need her now more than ever. So what are the affordances of this way of being? What are the costs? How does The Medial Woman take shape in the modern world? I consider these questions and much more.
