DOING EXPLOITS THROUGH KNOWING GOD

“Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” Daniel 11.32.

Daniel is a man who rose from obscurity to the limelight. He thrived and became relevant in a foreign and hostile environment. The secret of Daniel’s success and victorious living was his deep relationship with God.

Daniel as a major prophet saw tomorrow and he operated in the prophetic anointing. He was also a technocrat who was in government in the midst of unbelieving powerful people. He was envied, set up, implicated, put in danger yet he always came out triumphant. Daniel gave a prophecy and revealed a secret. The secret of great men is always in their stories. Daniel said as seen above that those who know their God;

*shall be strong

*shall do great exploits.

This principle is our study this week and maybe next. What is it about knowing God? Why do we need to know God. And how do we know God? 

What makes one strong by knowing God? And how does this translate to making exploits? 

In human relationships some doors open by knowing certain people. Some respects are accorded due to relationships with certain people. Some opportunities come because we know some individuals. If knowing some fellow human beings can give us some pass or open some doors and privileges how much more knowing God the Maker of the heaven and earth.

There are dimensions of knowing God which differentiates our outcomes. There was a way people have known God in the past and He chose to reveal Himself in a new way later.

“I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name the LORD I did not make myself fully known to them.” Exodus 6.3.

The people of old used to serve different gods which had potency in different areas. Some were god of fertility, god of agricultural harvest, god of victories in wars, god of healing etc. So the people needed to know various gods in various capacities. But Moses knew God almighty in various dimensions and did exploits in various ways. The dimension to which you know God in your area of challenges determines your victories.

The New Testaments introduced God to us in a new dimension through His Son Jesus Christ. And to know God through Jesus Christ is to become a child of God and to have eternal life.
