Join me in this week's Author Diary as I celebrate significant progress across various projects, from novellas to novels and series episodes. 📚 Completing "Wyvern Rider": This week marks the completion of my draft for the novella "Wyvern Rider." Finishing any piece of writing is always a moment of accomplishment, and this novella has been particularly rewarding to craft, adding depth and new adventures to its universe. 🐺 "The Wolf and the Wyvern" Update: Exciting news on another front— "The Wolf and the Wyvern" is now in the hands of the editor. This phase is crucial for refining the narrative and ensuring the story is polished and compelling. I'm looking forward to receiving feedback and making the necessary tweaks to enhance the story further. 🧟‍♂️ Progress on "Punks Versus Zombies": Episode 43 of "Punks Versus Zombies" is now written. Continuing this series is always exhilarating, and each episode adds to the dynamic world I've built, keeping readers on the edge of their seats. 🗡️ Redrafting "Dawn of Assassins" Book 4: I've also started the redrafting process for Book 4 of "Dawn of Assassins." This project is particularly challenging as it involves deepening the plot and character arcs, ensuring consistency and excitement for the series fans. As I navigate through these diverse writing phases, from drafting to editing, I am continually reminded of the joys and challenges of the creative writing process. I'm eager to bring all these stories to their fruition and share them with you. I'd love to hear about your current writing projects or how you manage multiple projects at once. • 355 - July 14, 2024 - The Knight and the Rebel, Magic Study, Fire Study
    Jul 13 2024

Dive into this week’s Author Diary as I refine "The Knight and the Rebel" and immerse myself in engaging reads and lively music performances.

🔊 Audio Pass for "The Knight and the Rebel":

This week involved a detailed audio pass of "The Knight and the Rebel," where I listened to the manuscript through text-to-speech technology. This method is incredibly helpful for spotting plot inconsistencies, repetitive word usage, and other textual nuances that might be missed during regular editing. It's a crucial step in ensuring the narrative flows smoothly and cohesively.

    📖 Weaving Together POVs:

Another major task was integrating the two distinct POVs into a single, seamless narrative. This process enhances the storytelling by ensuring the perspectives complement each other and build upon the overarching plot, adding depth and intrigue to the entire story.

    📚 Reading Journey:

I continued my reading adventure with Maria V. Snyder’s works, finishing both "Magic Study" and "Fire Study." Her captivating style and compelling character developments offer both inspiration and a delightful escape into her fictional worlds.

    🎤 Glastonbury Catch-Up:

My enjoyment of this year's Glastonbury festival performances extended into this week, with standout acts from Bombay Bicycle Club, Confidence Man, and Bloc Party. Each group brought their unique energy and creativity to the stage, providing a fantastic backdrop to my week’s work.

As I wrap up another productive week of editing, reading, and enjoying vibrant music, I look forward to the next stages of preparation for my book’s release and the ongoing enjoyment of great performances.

Reaching the end of a draft is always a significant moment, filled with a mix of relief and excitement as I begin to look ahead to the editing phase and eventually sharing this story with you all.

📚 Reading "Poison Study" by Maria V. Snyder:

This week, I enjoyed delving into Maria V. Snyder's "Poison Study," an engaging and beautifully crafted novel that captivates from the first page. It's always refreshing to get lost in such a well-written story, and it's provided some wonderful inspiration.
