The charge was laid against him by the Windsor Police Service after he made a $50 donation to the peaceful Freedom Convoy in 2022. Constable Brisco was forced to forfeit 80 hours' pay as punishment.

  • Exposing Covid Narratives
    Jul 16 2024

Lawyer Lee Turner joins Kevin Steel to discuss the case of Dr. Charles Hoffe, who faces a complaint from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia after speaking out against government and pharmaceutical solutions to Covid. The College couldn't convince the disciplinary panel to accept their statements as facts in a significant victory for Dr. Hoffe. Lee Turner explores the case and what it means for medical professionals across Canada.

  • Defending Parental Rights in New Brunswick
    Jun 11 2024

John Carpay and I start by discussing the Canadian Civil Liberties Association's constitutional challenge to a New Brunswick school policy requiring that parents of children under 16 be notified when their child undergoes a gender transition at school. Then, we discuss a recent poll showing that a majority of Canadians are now concerned with threats to freedom of expression. Following that, we talk about the recent Notwithstanding Clause controversy. We conclude our discussion with the case of Red Deer Catholic school board trustee Monique LaGrange, who was forced to resign because of her social media posts. In a Judicial Review, a lawyer for the board said LaGrange had an obligation to "communicate inclusively."

We move on to discuss a book that John was given while on that same trip to the capital, entitled “Against the Great Reset: Eighteen Theses Contra the New World Order,” edited by Michael Walsh.

  • Individual Rights and Indigenous Difference
    Apr 26 2024

Lawyer Marty Moore takes us through a complex Supreme Court of Canada decision, Dickson v. Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation, about whether First Nations governments are subject to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. If they are, then what protections would they have to preserve what is known, legally, as "indigenous difference?"

Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation is in the very north of the Yukon Territory and centred in the remote community of Old Crow (pop. 221) on the banks of the Porcupine River. It is accessible only by plane. Isolated though it is, this decision will reverberate across Canada.

Lawyer James Manson critiques Nova Scotia's new law allowing the government to access everyone's private medical information. He says it’s dangerous because it is so overbroad and ill-defined. • S05E12 Defending the "Religious Defense"
    Apr 15 2024

John Carpay and Kevin Steel discuss the attempt by the Bloc Québécois and special interest groups to remove the Criminal Code's Section 319(3) - "the religious defense" to accusations of hate speech. John argues that it will lead to the removal of certain portions of religious texts in Canada. Would this proposed amendment result in the outlawing of all kinds of religious belief? We also discuss John's column on unvaccinated medical professionals still being barred from working in Ontario and BC health systems. We finish by examining a recently leaked, secret report by the RCMP that predicts civil unrest in Canada. The solution? John thinks "freedom" and "democracy" may be the answers.
