  • Google Notebook LM: Introduction to Social Business As Dr. Yunus Intended
    Oct 5 2024

Muhammad Yunus, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, proposes the concept of social business to address societal issues by creating businesses that prioritize social impact over profit. He distinguishes social business from traditional profit-making businesses and philanthropy. Social businesses are non-profit, non-dividend companies that reinvest their earnings back into the business to expand their reach and impact. Yunus argues that social businesses offer a sustainable and impactful way to address social problems compared to traditional philanthropy, which is a one-time act of giving.

He uses Grameen Danone, a yogurt company that provides fortified yogurt to malnourished children in Bangladesh, and Grameen Veolia, a water company that provides clean drinking water to villages in Bangladesh, as examples of successful social businesses. He believes that social enterprise can inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs to focus on creating positive change in the world.

  • Google Notebook LM: Deep Dive into CaseText AI
    Oct 5 2024

This podcast episode features an interview with Jake Heller, the founder of Casetext, a legal technology company recently acquired by Thomson Reuters for $650 million. Heller discusses how he built his company and the role artificial intelligence, specifically large language models (LLMs) like GPT-4, played in its success.

He emphasizes the importance of prompt engineering and test-driven development in building accurate AI tools for the legal field. Heller believes that LLMs are a game-changer for legal professionals, as they can automate tasks that previously required significant time and effort. He also discusses his thoughts on OpenAI's new model, o1, which he believes has the potential to revolutionize the industry further by incorporating system-two thinking into AI systems.

  • Google Notebook LM Deep Dive: Elon Musk's X Profile
    Oct 4 2024

I fed Elon Musk's public X Profile page to Google Notebook LM. Remember, Google Notebook LM cannot read past what is available via public access, so it does not read all his posts.

  • Google Notebook LM Deep Dive: ShowNotes – a Note Sharing App
    Oct 4 2024

When I heard of Google Notebook LM, I wanted to see how it could review a tool I created for sharing notes with the public. So, it consumed the website for ShowNotes and made a charming deep dive episode that jibes with me perfectly!

As a tech founder, I am constantly building small tools for myself and potentially, dare I say it, customers :)

So when I can point Google Notebook LM to do a deep dive into my published content for this app and have it come back with what it did, this is an excellent validation that this project is potentially worth something to others. Again, founders are going to create tools, and there are times when the tools have utility for others and when tools are just eye candy or toys for the founder. Since I made it in January 2024, I have used it to share many notes with friends and family, and I enjoy using it every day.

However, having an intelligent analysis of the site and a deep dive into the purpose of this app by a third party, in this case, Google Notebook LM, is a really good way for me to think positively about what I have done. I am not saying this is a user/community validation. But having AI review your published content and provide you with human-like feedback that matches your expectations is a great feeling, at the least.

  • Google Notebook LM Deep Dive: OnTrackly – Email/WhatsApp based Startup Founder's Project Management Tool
    Oct 4 2024

I wanted to see what Google Notebook LM Deep Dive thinks of my upcoming tool, OnTrackly. It is focused on helping startup founders, especially solo founders with too many priorities, manage their many projects, ideas, and goals.

I fed Google Notebook LM the website of Ontrackly – ontrackly.xyz, and it created this podcast right on the money!

What excites me about Google Notebook LM is its ability to dive deep and analyze information from various sources – a website, a YouTube video, an X Profile link, or a blob of text; it will create impressive consumable analysis.

I see this as a way for startup founders to validate their product messaging, marketing, and, needless to say, their greater vision and mission.

This is a fantastic tool for founders!

  • Google Notebook LM Deep Dive: A Family Vacation Video
    Oct 4 2024

I wanted to see how Google Notebook LM does with videos. Knowing Google is behind both Notebook LM and YouTube, I figured it would have an easy time with this task. It did. It did an excellent job of analyzing the video.

The video is mostly Bengali, which was nothing for Google Notebook LM. It figured out the deep-down details of the family video and discovered the tonality of the video so well that it is shocking!

    Here is the video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82qQOQXwIHQ

Many of my friends—about 39 of them—were on a week-long group trip to Yellowstone. I shot the video and narrated the ending but used Bengali songs (generated by AI), and the Notebook LM just nailed my deep thoughts, which were embedded in the video.

I can not tell you how good of a job it did! It was awesome!
