  • निसर्गरम्य कोकणातील देवळांच्या कथाही तितक्याच रंजक आहेत.रत्नागिरी जिल्ह्यातील राजापूर तालुक्यातील कशेळे गावात श्री सूर्य नारायणाचे मंदिर आहे.या मंदिरातील श्री कनकादित्याची मूर्ती थेट गुजराथमधल्या वेरावळहून या ठिकाणी आल्याची लोककथा प्रसिध्द आहे.पारंपरिक पध्दतीची रचना आणि लाकडावरील सुबक कोरीव काम यामुळे हे मंदिर म्हणजे कलेचे मंदिरही ठरते.शिवाय याच परिसरातील कालिका देवी,जाखा देवी यांच्या काही पुराणकथाही या कनकेश्वराशी निगडीत आहेत.

    The stories of the temples in the scenic Konkan are so interesting. There is a temple of Sri Surya Narayana in Kashele village of Rajapur taluka of Ratnagiri district. It is a popular legend that the idol of Sri Kankaditya in this temple came directly from Veraval, Gujarat to this place. The traditional design and the fine wood carvings make this temple a temple of art. Besides, some myths of Kalika Devi, Jakha Devi in this area are also associated with this Kankeshwar Temple!
