Welcome to another episode of KEEP IT WEIRD, the podcast for all things strange and unusual, hairy and scary, mysterious and unknown and everything in between!! This week we cover FOUR very WEIRD topics, we introduce some new segments, we show off some cool stuff we bought with our adult money and we even recite some poetry. Lauren starts us off with her very first MONSTER WATCH as we head to Santa Paula California in search of the BILLIWHACK MONSTER. This thing might be a bigfoot, a government experiment gone horribly awry, an interdimensional creature that crawled through a hole in space-time or possibly the devil himself. Ashley brings us two stories in a new segment she calls MONKEY'N AROUND! First up is our new favorite Orangutan, KEN ALLEN. Known as the "Hairy Houdini" at the San Diego zoo, Ken became famous for outwitting his zoo handlers and escaping his "inescapable" enclosure several times. Then we head into the modern day and discuss China splicing human DNA into chimpanzees. The goal is to attempt to find the gene that gave us consciousness... but could it result in Planet of the Apes? And finally Lauren gives us a BIT O' BIOLOGY with a 2009 study in Scientific American regarding music and how not only does it move us emotionally and affect our "heart" but it also might affect our HEART!! That's right, it's possible that Music may help keep your cardiovascular system regulated and we may be able to use music in the future to help treat victims of heart attacks and strokes to re-regulate their circulatory systems. We discuss Colonel Phillip J Corso's claims that whatever crashed in Roswell led to fiberoptics and microchips & therefore computers an the internet and we also take a look at an indigenous tribe, deep in the Amazon, called the Marubo and what happens when you give a community their first access to the internet.     So buckle your seatbelts, maybe take a toke or two yourself, relax, melt into the couch, WAIT too much melting. Don’t forget to breathe. Yes you ARE breathing. Chill out, relax, meeeelt into the couch. There we go. Open your mind to weirdness. Let it flow through you.

Consider this your supplemental learning materials for last week's episode "Homework for Witches" where we taught you all about different forms of divination! In this episode, we take what we've learned about divination through Tarot Cards, Oracle Cards, Rune Casting & Bibliomancy and we put it to work. YOU, our lovely and loyal listeners, sent in your very own personal questions hoping to get answers and direction from the universe and let me tell you-- the universe came through in a BIG WAY. Ashley cast a set of runes, Lauren drew a tarot card and our resident witch Laura Lareau did an oracle card reading for each question and we came today with our results. This was such a fun and interesting experiment and we were SHOOK to find that each of our readings were so similar to each other for each question. It's almost as if... the universe... was communicating. But I guess we won't know until we hear from our participants! We will definitely be giving updates in future episodes to let you know how spot on (or how far off) our readings were and if we were able to offer any words of wisdom to assist in their lives.
