Kevin and Brie Save the World – Episode 49 – Stuff & Things

It’s our last episode of 2021 and oh, what a year!  Join us as we recap the year!  Brie has a repressed memory and we dedicate this episode to Kevin’s yearbook teacher.  Also, we must support and uplift Lindsay Lohan.  This week’s Listener Feedback supports another Dear Listener with their bad break-up and our Listener Question comes from a reluctant Black Santa.

TheraBrie tells a teary tale about a restaurant that goes above and beyond for a customer.  Then it’s a double dose of Culture with Kevin this Christmas!

Kevin and Brie Save the World – Episode 48 – Lessons in Carols

We’re back for another episode of tee-hee’s, ha-ha’s and some real tears.  We greet our newest podcast family member, Wilma, and have a guest appearance from established family member, Nilla.  Then, we tackle dealing with disappointment and throwing tantrums.  This week’s Listener Feedback reminds Kevin of his personal connection to Anne Rice.  Our Listener Question grapples with what to do when you break-up with someone and they still have some of your sentimental belongings.

TheraBrie gives it up to Netflix for doing something to build Black communities and Culture with Kevin encourages you to read the novella, Passing.

Kevin and Brie Save the World – Episode 47 – Rebroadcast the Podcast

It’s a blast from our past in this podcast rebroadcast! From our vaults, March 2, 2021 – Episode 9, Go Away, Lestat! – in honor of Anne Rice.

Brie still doesn’t understand cereal milk and Kevin regales us with tales of his 103-year-old Irish Grandmother (rest in peace, Grandma!)  We received some great listener advice this week, which boils down to – JUST BE YOURSELF.  You do you.  Also, the moral we reached – don’t cut your own bangs.  Basically, Kevin and Brie really appreciate you for who you are.  Thank you for being you.

Our Listener Question gets Kevin and Brie all riled up, as we go deep in our conversation and discuss our heightened public anxiety caused by the pandemic, understanding our traumas and using them for good, transference of energy, using forgiveness to heal, and the power we give to words. (Phew – that was a lot – thanks for sticking with us!)

Brie has TWO TheraBrie stories this week, and in Culture with Kevin, Kevin FINALLY puts his money where his mouth is.

Please consider supporting THE SPOT Period in Germantown, Philadelphia – working to end period poverty and the stigma behind menstruation.

Kevin and Brie Save the World: Episode 44 – P-O-D-C-A-S-T-I-N-G

We are thankful for “YOU”, Dear Listener.  No, “YOU” is a show on Netflix.  No, “YOU”, the show…on Netflix!

We have a lot of opinions this week and we play a new game – Who’s That Emily?

In our Listener Feedback, a Dear Listener reminds us that friendship means being there through thick and thin, even when dealing with a badly behaved boyfriend.  Then, in our Listener Question, we grapple with how to deal with an endless list of “to-do’s” and the impending feeling of failure when you don’t accomplish these “to-do’s”.

TheraBrie introduces us to a 13-year-old who used his Make-a-Wish wish to feed the homeless.  Culture with Kevin relieves anxiety through Sensory Mediation.

     (From @so.informed on Instagram)

Stand with Julius Jones – don’t let an innocent man be executed on November 18th.  The Pardon & Parole Board voted to grant Julius clemency due to inconsistencies in the case, which cast too much doubt, yet he is still scheduled to be executed.

Call Oklahoma Governor Stitt at 405-521-2342 and ask that he “stand by his own word to follow the recommendation of the Pardon and Parole board and grant Julius Jones clemency.  Please save Julius from a wrongful execution”

Let’s get right into this behemoth of an episode where Kevin and Brie discuss from everything including cleansing rituals to setting intentions to car accidents to centering the universe to physical activity to death. What DON’T we talk about this episode?

In this Listener Feedback-less episode, our Listener Question grapples with coming to terms with a shift in self and the resulting absence of feeling during this change.

TheraBrie gets personal as Brie breaks down the systematic injustices against Black people and what you can do right now to do better.  Culture with Kevin promotes the Criterion Channel and the Japanese film Gate of Flesh.
