  • Men's mental health in the business world
    May 24 2023
Over the last couple of years, we’ve seen a positive increase in the number of men seeking help around mental health and their ability to speak openly about their mental health. Most recently, in the media, we’ve seen world-famous singer-songwriter, Ed Sheeran open up about his struggles with depression. Prince Harry revealing more about his anxiety disorder and Chelsea footballer, Ben Chilwell sharing how he receives support for his mental health - and that’s just naming a few examples. BUT, we can’t deny that there’s still a long way to go to really break down that stigma, particularly in the corporate world. We’re joined in this episode by one of Teesside’s best - Karl Pemberton who is the Managing Director of Active Chartered Financial Planners - one of the leading independent chartered financial planning teams in the North. Karl is somebody that has also recently shared some of his own mental health challenges and we’re looking forward to carrying on the conversation and encouraging others to do the same!

  • Continuous learning is the KEY to a healthy mindset
    May 22 2023

The impact that learning can have on our wellbeing is well-documented - it boosts our self-confidence, raises self-esteem, helps us to build a sense of purpose (hence why it’s deemed as one of THE 5 Ways to Wellbeing) BUT employers really need to bump learning and development opportunities up their priority list.

We’re joined in this episode by someone who truly appreciates the benefits of learning, upskilling staff and having a well-trained team - the wonderful goal-getter Jessica Williams.

Jess is the Managing Director of Just Williams and Founder of the Just Williams Sales Academy. She created the Sales Academy having seen the need for businesses to constantly upskill their people, to hold onto their best talent and attract new stellar staff, and we’re really looking forward to talking to her today on the importance of learning and development in the workplace…
