    Harvard University's President announced that it would no longer enforce a policy blacklisting student members of single-sex social clubs.

    This was a response to court decisions which indicated that Harvard would likely not be able to enforce this, or similar policies. Unfortunately, almost all of the women's social clubs on Harvard's campus have gone co-ed since the ban - meaning it had the complete opposite effect.
