Kyra Women's Project: Rosemary Cook CBE

  • Summary

  • Kyra Women’s Project is a York charity that helps women faced with challenges make positive change in their lives.

It’s just celebrated it’s 10th anniversary and now helps over 200 local women through activities, courses, therapies, and events. These services are all provided by volunteers, and receives no statutory funding, so Kyra has to rely on grants and fundraising to continue to deliver these services free of charge to women who need support.

Sophie Hudson met with Rosemary Cook, the outgoing CEO of Kyra Women’s Project about the life-changing support the charity offers.

Later in the episode, Sophie meets with a member of the Rose Project, which helps young women from the age of 18-25. The member explains how she has benefitted from the group activities, having suffered with her mental health and talks candidly about how Kyra has changed her life.
