LARGE AVU: Research (With) Art, Part 1 - Artistic Research Between Science, Pleasure, Dirt and Non-human World

  • Summary

  • What does it mean to do artistic research today? This two-part series tries to answer this question.

In this first installment, artists and researchers Florian Dombois, Markéta Dolejšová, Jaz Hee-jeong Choi and Anne Helen Mydland offer four perspectives on why to do artistic research – and how it can reflect on both art and science, push against the myth of artistic genius, be embedded in more-than-human scales or use archeology to uncover undiscussed assumptions.

Host, mixing, sound design: Ondřej Trhoň
The intro section contains a recording of “White”, a performance by Luiza Prado De O. Martins.

The podcast was created with the support of a grant from the National Recovery Plan, awarded to AVU by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic in 2023.
