Growing Native Habitat Lake Bluff, roughly 8 years ago, and along with others, worked very hard to get the Village of Lake Bluff certified as a native habitat. Micki Collins is also a member and is leading the project, Witness Tree Quest, a project to find the oldest native tree in Lake Bluff. Everyone in Lake Bluff is invited to participate, and it runs through September. There are a lot of old-growth trees in Lake Bluff, and Micki hopes that someone finds the Granddaddy of them all! This week’s Ladies Who Question is part 1 of a 2-part sit-down with Turi Ryder, a well-respected and very successful national talk show host, and one of my “sisters in broadcasting. Turi and I were on-air decades ago at a major Chicago talk radio station. Because I was on-air morning drive and Turi held down the evening shift, we didn’t get to see or hear each other on the air. Crazy, right? But, that’s the biz! We talked for hours. SOME of what we talked about made it into this week’s and next week’s podcast. The stories that are not quite ready for public consumption were edited out.
