Leading and teaching through questions is as old as Socrates … and perhaps as enduring! Maybe because, when you’re asked a thoughtful question, the truthful answer you give is yours-and-yours-alone. And, if the question is one you never thought of before, then your answer may be new, memorable and important. This is how we inspire learning and lay the foundation for inspired leading.

These are treacherous times …

Make no mistake about it: the political and judicial challenges we’re facing nationally have real bearing on our work as civic leaders! The rights, education, health and welfare of the stakeholders and constituencies we lead at national, regional and local levels are on the line.

Remember our slogan “Lead For A Change™”. It reminds us that we’ve chosen to step forward to take leadership … that we lead in order to make change happen … we lead in order to promote and protect the interests and well-being of all our stakeholders and constituencies … and – irrespective of how large or small our organizations may be – “we don’t lead in a vacuum.”

So, what kind of leader are you … and what kind of leader do you want to be? These are two of the three most important questions we need to tackle on our personal leadership development journeys.

These are our questions to answer … if we hope to be effective. No one can answer these questions about us other than us!
