    Host Linda Hatfield starts season three joined by Muskingum University sophomore history major, Chipper Iacobucci, and accounting major, Jacquie Christian. In conversations with Linda, these students share their stories about struggling in the classroom and how they were able to turn it around using her advice. Chipper and Jacquie also share the inspirations and motivations that drove them to take Linda’s advice to heart.

  • Meeting the Leaders of the Line

    Host Linda Hatfield is joined by three members of the Leaders of the Line, a new program on Muskingum’s campus. The Leaders of the Line program is overseen by Malek Stewart, Associate Director of Cultural Engagement & Inclusion. This episode features Malek, as well as a mentor and mentee of the program, and a guest speaker who doubles as a Muskingum alumnus. Collectively the four of them share with Linda the purpose of the program, and how it has and can continue to benefit the men of color on campus.

  • Prioritizing Mental Health

    Linda Hatfield focuses on how Muskingum University prioritizes mental health of students. Linda is joined by Leah Shirer, a counselor at Muskingum. The two discuss the various campus resources available to students, answer student submitted questions, and go through the process of setting up a counseling appointment. Leah explains going to counseling is not only for people who feel overwhelmed, and can be beneficial to everyone. Counseling Services is located in Montgomery Hall on Muskingum’s campus.

  • Finding Balance Between Sports and Studies

    Linda Hatfield is joined by four Muskingum University student athletes, Kaylee Anstaett, Hunter Foley, Jill Laposky, and Toleo Malone. These students share how they found their balance between their sports and their studies, and what resources have helped them. Jill and Toleo both talk about how having conversation with coaches is where the balance begins. Kaylee discusses putting academics first and utilizing Muskingum's Study Center. Hunter explains how he utilizes a written planner as well as a digital planner. All students vary in age, and were recommended by coaches to represent Muskingum student athletes who have found the ideal balance.

  • Being Comfortable with Being Uncomfortable

    Linda Hatfield is joined by three Muskingum University seniors, Paige Stringfellow, Paul Lambo, and Sydni Trudo. Students talk with Linda about how they came to terms with pushing themselves outside of their comfort zones and how to utilize campus resources. Paige discusses how she built relationships with professors by utilizing their office hours and how that is not viewed as a sign of weakness. Paul explains how he uses his learning disability and Muskingum’s PLUS Program as an icebreaker with faculty and staff. Sydni talks about how she makes sure she is putting herself in uncomfortable situations to better herself as a student. All three students will be graduating in May 2023.

  • Taylor Woda
    Nov 15 2022

    Linda Hatfield is joined by Taylor Woda for episode three of “Linda’s Keys to Academic Success”. Taylor came into college with dreams of becoming a nurse but wasn’t accepted in Muskingum University’s Nursing program. She refused to give up and came to Linda for help. After critiquing her study skills, using campus resources, and evaluating herself, Taylor was able to get in the nursing program. Her passion for nursing drove her to persevere and she is now on track to graduate in May 2025.
