Training camp will provide a great opportunity for some young Chicago Bears players to showcase their talents and earn bigger roles in 2024.

Not many starting roles are open, but the competitions will be fierce among key reserves completing for significant playing time off the bench.

Expect to see a decent amount of Caleb Williams this preseason, but some of the Chicago Bears veteran starters might not play in any of the exhibition games.

The Chicago Bears have recent draft picks filling big roles and key positions, and it is critical that they make good progress in their development this season.

Free agent center Connor Williams is expected to be ready for Week 1 as he recovers from a torn ACL, and the Chicago Bears should sign him to improve their offensive line in multiple ways.

Don't expect Ryan Poles to get a deal done, though. He already has a lot invested in the interior OL, and he has other priorities in late free agency.

The Chicago Bears are relying on defensive tackle Gervon Dexter to be their top interior pass rusher this season, but history tells us players at his position are rarely ready to make a big jump in year two.

Ryan Poles needs to do something to add more talent to the interior of his defensive line. It's not fair to Dexter or Zacch Pickens.
