The San Francisco Giants defeated the Colorado Rockies 4-1 in the first game of a scheduled double-header today, and the second game of the four-game set, behind a career-best effort from Blake Snell. The big offseason signing struck out a career-high 15 batters through six innings of work, the first pitcher to do so since at least 1901. Pat Bailey came up with the big hit that ultimately gave the San Francisco Giants the win, a two-RBI single that gave them a 3-1 lead in the 7th inning. Game two of the doubleheader starts after the Tyler Rich concert between the two games at Oracle Park.

The San Francisco Giants returned home today to the friendly confines of Oracle Park and it paid off big time as they win 11-4 over the Colorado Rockies. Tyler Fitzgerald and Kyle Harrison showed San Francisco Giants fans how bright the future could be, as the two budding stars showed out today. Tyler Fitzgerald launched two more home runs, giving him seven in his last eight games. He's the first Giant to do so since Barry Bonds. Meanwhile, Kyle Harrison was nearly unhittable on the mound as he tallied 11 strikeouts and only gave up one run over 6.2 innings of work. It is great when this team can play to its potential, but games like this have been few and far between in this frustrating season.
