Detroit Tigers fell behind early, but the Tigers roared back in the fourth with a series of clutch hits, including a double by Matt Vierling that capitalized on an error by the Angels' right fielder Jo Adell, and a pivotal single by Kerry Carpenter, who had an impressive 2-3 night with a home run and 3 RBIs. Jake Rogers added a 422-foot homer in the fifth, and Riley Greene launched a 425-foot bomb in the sixth. Meanwhile, Brant Hurter delivered a solid start, pitching 5 innings and allowing only 2 runs. Relievers Brenan Hanifee and Shelby Miller shut down the Angels, combining for 3 innings of no-hit baseball. With this victory, the Tigers elevate their record to 67-66, the Detroit Tigers have now won 12 of their last 15 games and are now 5.5 games back in the wild card race for the MLB postseason.
