Despite a four-run rally in the 5th inning sparked by Riley Greene's bases-clearing triple, the Tigers were unable to hold the lead. Andrew Chafin took the loss after allowing the decisive sacrifice fly to Lane Thomas in the 10th inning. Gio Urshela and Riley Greene led the offense with three-hit and one-hit performances, respectively, in what turned out to be a nail-biting finish. The Tigers' defense faltered with two critical errors, ultimately undermining their solid offensive effort. With this loss, Detroit's record stands at 32-34 as they look to bounce back in the series.
