  • This new "Lyrical Headshots" series delves into popular song lyrics that explore mental health. We are sitting on an untouched goldmine of literature written on the subject which hasn’t been discussed enough, and Not Your Usual Doctor, Dr.Charlie Easmon, is here to change that. 

    In this episode, he performs and unpacks the lyrics of ‘Mother’s Little Helper’ by the Rolling Stones, ‘Well Fancy That’ by Fun Boy Three (who became The Specials), and ‘Mirror In the Bathroom’ by The Beat. Respectively, they cover the following topics: 

    The strain of being a housewife, pregnancy, and the subsequent over-prescription of benzodiazepines which often leads to addiction. Delving into the horror and long-term impact of child sexual abuse, and finally, narcissistic personality disorder, with further commentary on its greater significance in our modern world of social media.
