  • Why Trust is Faltering in Leadership
    Jul 9 2024

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

The red lights are flashing on the business leadership dashboard. The reason? A notable drop in trust in leadership. Only 21% of employees strongly agree that they trust their organizations' leadership. Since the pandemic, there has been a downward slide in organizational trust. So why do 79% of all employees not trust their leaders? This raises serious concerns about morale in business and the overall sense of what the future holds.

Rich and Maikel discuss how to regain trust in this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.

  • The 10 Phrases Confident Leaders Use
    Jul 3 2024

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

Effective leadership hinges on strong communication skills. Successful leaders must excel in communication, as it is essential for conveying tasks and inspiring and instilling confidence in their teams. This, in turn, drives the organization toward its goals. Key elements of effective communication include honesty, sincerity, transparency, trust, respect, support, appreciation, and energy. Above all, effective communication emphasizes collaboration ("we" rather than "I") and involves engaging "with" people rather than simply speaking "to" them.

Rich and Maikel discuss 10 common phrases that confident leaders use effectively to communicate with those that they lead.

  • The Fine Art of Quitting a Bad Boss
    Jun 28 2024

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

Despite companies spending $15 billion annually on managerial and leadership development, bad bosses remain prevalent in the workforce. Staying in a bad work situation with a toxic boss may seem more secure than leaving, it comes with many risks. A study of 3,122 employees found that those who work for toxic bosses were 60% more likely to suffer a heart attack, stroke, or other life-threatening cardiac condition. Other studies in American workplaces show that people with toxic bosses are more susceptible to chronic stress, depression, and anxiety, all of which increase the risk of a lowered immune system, colds, strokes, and even heart attacks. In many instances, the results show that it may take up to 22 months to recover physically and emotionally from a toxic boss. While the idea of quitting may be intimidating, staying in a job with a toxic boss can be even more frightening.

Rich and Maikel discuss the issues surrounding quitting bad bosses in this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.

  • No Need to Fear, AI is Here!
    Jun 25 2024

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

AI is now the fix for well, just about everything. Have a problem at work, AI has a solution. There are several things that AI can help improve; however, leadership is not one of them, especially when it comes to one-on-one communication with your employees. There are no shortcuts to great leadership and utilizing an app to streamline a performance management system or write and deliver an annual review is not a solution. It is only exacerbating an already existing problem in organizations today.

Rich and Maikel discuss AI as a solution to poor leadership in this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT. Best buckle up, this one gets a bit bumpy.

  • The Leadership Playbook
    Jun 18 2024

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

Developing leadership competencies is crucial, but they can become underutilized or lost without a structured system to support and reinforce these skills. A leadership system serves as a framework that aligns the organization’s vision, goals, and values with the behaviors and practices of its leaders.

Deion Sanders is a world-class athlete and one of the few who can claim both World Series and Superbowl rings. His unique leadership approach focused on self-discipline and personal accountability, is one that might be considered refreshing in a business world often bogged down by managers who second-guess every move their employees make and end up impeding progress. Deion's leadership playbook consists of 10 key lessons that have transformed not only the college football programs he coaches but also the communities surrounding the schools.

Rich and Maikel discuss the 10 key lessons learned from Deion Sanders in this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.

  • The Refining Fire of Leadership - Part IV
    Jun 16 2024

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

Reflection is the well-kept secret of effective leadership. Although some people are naturally more introspective than others, everyone can improve his or her ability to reflect, and therefore to grow and learn. Effective leaders step back, reflect, and understand their inner motivations and strengths. they ask themselves important personal questions such as what am I trying to do, where am I going, what is important, what is not important, and how am I going to behave. However, too often, people don’t take the time to think deeply, reflect, and put it to pen and paper about what’s happening and how it affects who they are. That’s not only a waste of an important leadership development experience, it’s detrimental to the development of being able to calm yourself and reflect on who you truly are.

Rich and Maikel discuss the key to getting to the other side of adversity in this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.
