  • Seeing What You Can’t See – Uncovering Leadership Blind Spots
    Jul 4 2025

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

What is one of the most overlooked threats to leadership effectiveness: Blind Spots. These aren’t flaws of intelligence, character, or intention—they’re gaps in self-awareness that quietly derail progress, erode trust, and limit impact. In short, they are just the angles you can't see from where you're standing.

Great leaders don’t just seek answers—they seek perspective. Because what you don’t know you’re missing can hurt far more than what you know needs fixing.

In this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT, Rich and Maikel explore how to identify blind spots before they become breaking points—and how courage, humility, and meaningful feedback become the tools that sharpen your leadership edge.

  • Commanding Presence: The Fearless Voice of Leadership with Jimmy Cannon
    Jun 24 2025

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

Consider a leader who consistently commands attention in meetings—someone whose presence inspires action, fosters connection, and drives results. What sets these individuals apart and ensures their voices are heard and respected? While nonverbal cues such as posture and eye contact play a role, research consistently shows that vocal delivery significantly shapes how we are perceived.

In short, how we say something is just as impactful as what we say.

Jimmy Cannon is an executive coach whose belief is simple: whether you're speaking or singing, your voice is your most powerful tool. Over the past decade, Jimmy has helped individuals at all levels— from first-time speakers to X Factor auditionees and CEOs—develop vocal strength, confidence, and presence. Whether it's expanding range, enhancing projection, or overcoming anxiety, the journey is always transformative and empowering.

Jimmy joins Rich and Maikel on the episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT to discuss the importance of vocal presence as a leader.

  • The Questions Only Great Leaders Dare To Ask
    Jun 22 2025

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

What sets great leaders apart from the mediocre? It’s not the title—they often hold the same one. The real difference lies in how they show up when it matters most: in moments of discomfort, uncertainty, and challenge.

Great leaders dare to ask the questions others won’t. They lean into the bold, uncomfortable conversations that disrupt the status quo, expose blind spots, and spark real transformation. Because leadership isn’t about always having the answers—it’s about having the courage to ask the questions that truly matter.

Join Rich and Maikel on this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT as we explore what it means to lead with boldness, trust, and the courage to go deep.

  • Principled Under Fire: Leadership When It Counts
    Jun 13 2025

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

Leadership, when it counts, is less about bravado, more about belief. Major Dick Winters was a highly respected leader known for his calm, decisive, and principled approach to leadership. Major Winters was a man who led with conviction, composure, and quiet strength through some of World War II’s fiercest battles. His leadership wasn’t loud—it was principled, even when under fire.

As the commander of Easy Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, he led his men through some of the most intense battles of World War II, including D-Day, Operation Market Garden, and the Battle of the Bulge. Major Winter's leadership style was built on leading from the front, earning respect through competence and character, and fostering teamwork and trust.

Simply put, leadership isn't defined in the calm—it’s forged in the storm.

Join Rich and Maikel as we explore what it means to lead when it counts, and how Winters’ legacy offers a timeless blueprint for today’s executives navigating the fog of uncertainty on this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.

  • Misguided Advocacy: The Rise of "Workplace Kens and Karens"
    Jun 4 2025

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

In modern workplaces, there are employees who consistently exhibit entitled, demanding, or overly critical behavior. Commonly referred to as “Workplace Karens” (a cultural term stemming from internet slang), these individuals often create friction within teams by resisting change, escalating minor issues, and expecting special treatment. While not necessarily malicious, their behaviors can disrupt workplace harmony and reduce overall productivity. In fact, workplace entitlement can contribute to resistance against new policies or leadership decisions, which is a common factor in why up to 70% of change initiatives fail.

Employees who fit this description often feel strongly about perceived injustices, whether real or imagined, and may express frustration in ways that drain organizational energy. They frequently act from a place of misguided advocacy, believing they are fighting for fairness or exposing flaws, but their approach can be overly aggressive or unconstructive.

Rich and Maikel tackle entitlement-driven negativity on this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.

  • Leaders, What's The Deal?
    May 28 2025

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

Let's ask the question that’s been whispered in boardrooms and sidestepped in leadership circles: Why do so many executives avoid executive coaching?

For some, it’s the fear of vulnerability—admitting they don’t have all the answers. For others, it’s the misconception that coaching is only for struggling leaders, not top performers. And let’s not forget the pressure to appear confident, competent, and in control. Afterall, you've made it to the corner office, so by default, you're already a master of the leadership craft. There's no need for a coach here.

But here’s the truth: even the world’s greatest leaders—those who have built empires, transformed industries, and shaped the future—know that growth never stops. Coaching isn’t about fixing flaws; it’s about sharpening strengths. So why does resistance persist?

Based on the book, "Accelerating Leadership," co-authored by Eric Hicks, PhD, PCC, and Lance Hazard, PCC, CPCC, we are discussing six specific values that executive coaching brings to leaders enhancing their success and abilities.

Join Rich and Maikel as we explore the reasons why, as a leader, executive coaching should be a priority in your career on this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.
