York has been named as the "best place to visit in the UK in 2024" and it's pretty obvious to locals and visitors as to why.

One organisation that’s working hard to try and keep it that way is Make It York, which is behind many of the events held in the city, including York Residents Festival, the Ice Trail, and the award-winning Christmas Market.

Sarah Loftus, the Managing Director, took the helm of Make it York a couple of years ago. Sophie Hudson spoke with her at the Visit York HQ on Parliament Street to talk about what's in store for York this year - and Make It York's objectives for the future.
