Ecatepec de Morelos is a high crime rate, low-income neighborhood. This suburb is considered one of Mexico's most dangerous places, especially for women. Carlos's childhood wasn't easy, he was mistreated by adult women that were supposed to care for him. This led him to develop a hatred towards women. However, there was one woman that was spared from his horrific crimes and that was his longtime partner, Patricia. The couple would go on to have up to 20 female victims (including female children).
