In the book Microlearning: Short and Sweet by Karl Kapp and Robyn Defelice, microlearning is defined as an instructional unit that provides a short engagement in an activity intentionally designed to elicit a specific outcome from the learner. There are 5 keys words or phrases in that definition that underpin its meaning – 1 is instructional unit, 2 is short, 3 engagement activity, 4 intentional, and 5 is specific outcome.
