  • Pat Labez - Embracing the Third Act

    In this episode, we sit down with Pat Labez, a dynamic and multifaceted individual who has embraced life’s many transitions, from a young realtor to a passionate advocate for seniors and mental health. Born in the Philippines, raised in Hawaii, and having lived from coast to coast in the U.S., Pat’s journey has been anything but conventional, but it’s a testament to the power of reinvention and purpose.

    Pat is the founder of Third Act Encore Publishing and curator of the book Third Act Encore, where I had the honor of contributing a chapter. This book is a creative celebration of the later years in life, offering inspiration and empowerment for seniors. Through her work, Pat has also pioneered creative programs that provide enrichment for the senior community, combining her deep compassion for others with her love for the arts.

    She’s a lifelong advocate for seniors and mental health, co-founding the International Mental Health Foundation, a non-profit that brings awareness to mental health and disabilities through the arts. Her advocacy is rooted in her personal experiences, which led her to pivot from a career in real estate to working in long-term care services.

    Pat’s journey is expansive—starting as a realtor at the age of 22 in Hawaii, she eventually became a director for several non-profit organizations, including Elder Care Alliance and American Red Cross. She has volunteered for AARP, Alzheimer’s Association, Council on Aging, Hospice, and many others, always putting seniors and mental health at the forefront of her efforts.

    In her late 60s, Pat returned to the creative arts and entertainment world, where she became an actor, producer, and international bestselling author. Her career highlights include roles in shows like Blue Bloods and New Amsterdam, and she is known for her work in feature films such as Baby Ruby and Howard.

    Now a Seniors Real Estate Specialist in New Jersey, Pat continues her journey of reinvention. Her story is a shining example of embracing the third act of life with joy, purpose, and passion.

  • Andreas Christodoulides - From Childhood Dreamer to Aviation Entrepreneur

    In this episode, we dive into the fascinating journey of Andreas Christodoulides, the visionary founder of Zela Aviation and Zela Jet.

    Andreas was born and raised in Cyprus and has spent the majority of his life living in the UK. He now resides in Greece with his family, his company currently has offices in Cyprus, Greece and the UK.

    Andreas’ passion for aviation started at a very young age. From the moment he could remember, he was fascinated by planes and flying. As a boy, he dreamt of becoming a pilot, but his parents didn’t share that dream. Despite their reservations, Andreas’ passion for aviation never wavered. In fact, he took matters into his own hands by writing to airlines, asking for stickers and memorabilia, and immersing himself in everything related to the skies.

    As he grew older, this childhood fascination blossomed into a career that would change the course of his life. In 2006, Andreas founded Zela Aviation, a company that has become a leader in the air charter and aircraft leasing sectors. Over the years, his entrepreneurial spirit and love for aviation expanded the company’s services to include private jet and helicopter charters, aircraft management, and consultancy.

    In 2021, Andreas launched Zela Jet, a private jet and helicopter service, targeting the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East markets. With a fleet ranging from light jets to heavy aircraft, Zela Jet also offers luxury helicopter charters, sightseeing flights, and yacht services.

    But Andreas’ passion for aviation extends beyond business. In 2023, he purchased two historic aircraft—a BAC 1-11 and a Boeing 727— from the old Hellinikon Airport to preserve aviation history and heritage. His vision of displaying these planes as cultural landmarks highlights his commitment to the aviation industry and the history that shaped it.

    After spending decades working for Broyhill Furniture and rising through the ranks, Paula faced layoffs that ultimately nudged her into a new professional direction. In 2016, she became involved with the West Marion Community Forum, a group focused on improving local life through collaboration and community engagement. From co-chair to executive director, Paula has helped spearhead initiatives that address critical issues like public transportation, affordable housing, youth empowerment, and food security.

    Under her leadership, the Forum has created a free public transportation system for the area, organized youth programs, and provided hundreds of meals to those in need.   • Rosamaria Mancini - She accompanied the Pope to the Holy Land

    Rosamaria is the author of the book SOS Podcasts. In the book she

    tells her unique story of being a woman, wife, and mother living abroad. A self described “big pain,” hypochondriac, and perfectionist, she details her quirks and how they were exacerbated during her time in both Italy and Germany, and how she turned to podcasts to feel less alone and more connected. In a refreshingly original, funny, assertive, and honest voice she lays it all out – from her tendency toward hyper protective parenting and Catholic guilt to her opinions on air conditioning, military wives, German food, and turning the big 4-0.

    Apart from being a writer Rosamaria Mancini is also a professor, and public relations and media manager based in Germany. She has worked for numerous news organizations including the Wall Street Journal and The New York Times where she wrote feature stories. She also spent a few years working in communications for the Vatican where she had the opportunity to accompany the Pope to the Holy Land. She recently earned her PhD in creative writing. She works for Fairtrade International and teaches communications at the Brussels School of Governance and UMGC Europe.

    She lives in the tri-border area between Germany, Netherlands, and Belgium with her husband and two children.
