On September 4th, 2022, the Melfort RCMP was notified of a stabbing in the James Smith Cree Nation, in Central Saskatchewan, Canada. 11 people were killed and 19, injured. Add to that a violent history, including domestic abuse, one of the longest rap sheets I've ever heard of, and a story of lack of support and resources on indigenous lands. But also, a tale of grief and and healing.
