  • EP02 - Aceyalone, Mc Trey and my journey in Hip Hop
    Jul 3 2024

This week I continue explaining what drew me into not only US Hip Hop, but Australian Hip Hop as well.

I have an interview, from 1999, with Aceyalone that takes a turn for the worse when I accidentally upset him.

Plus a 1997 interview with Mc Trey, a leading light in Australian Hip Hop and Western Sydney. The interview gives great insight into Trey and I guarantee you'll come out of it with even more respect for her.

We also have music by DNO and Macronauts.

As always, I hope you enjoy this episode.

  • EP04, DJ Soup, Mista Sinista, Perso, 1990s Hip Hop
    Jul 17 2024

Welcome back for another edition of my life story, Hip Hop and how they're so tightly linked.

This week I give you the run down on Issue 2 of my magazine from 1997, Arfek.

We hear from 2, 1st school generation Hip Hop producers and DJ's. First is from Australia, Dj Soup of the Fonke Knomaads and the other is of the notorious DJ crew X-Men, Mista Sinista.

We've got music by WA Hip Hop pioneers, Thu Rubbishmen. Plus I discuss 80's kids and 00's kids and how the different generations have changed music. As always there's some political nonsense by me and how that shaped early Australian Hip Hop.

Lastly, and most importantly, I'm honoured to bring back an interview with graffiti writer, Perso, from the legendary SWB. RIP Perso.
