The academic CV hasn't changed and remains the same. To push forward the "new resume" format shows unprofessionalism and invokes concerns, especially when both sides claim experience. The new paragraph styled resume with sections highlighting your skills ifanything, raises questions as to your experience because this format will accepted as taken from someone who lacks either the qualifications or the experience needed. Because that was originally why such a resume was designed: for fresh graduates who looked to make an entry into the narjet. Suffice it to say in academics even fresh graduates should strive to stick to the CV that they think is outdated because that is the correct academic cv format.
