  • From Prototype To Design To Production With Robert Williams | Episode 2
    Sep 9 2020
Prototype to Production When you are just starting out, not everyone has knowledge of injection molding. Many times, they just have a napkin sketch. At EirMed, we help them bring that napkin sketch to life. Then we create a real file that can be sent to a toolmaker. That toolmaker will then go ahead and build the necessary parts that can be used for molding. From there a product is created that can be made and they can market or they can do whatever they want with it. Robert Williams, Project Manager of EirMed joins host Justin Starbird to talk shop around taking a concept from prototype to production. Robert shares his thoughts on what is important to the process, how Eirmed is unique in the market, and how he helps customers see their vision come to life. There are some general rules that you have to follow to determine if it's injection moldable. Robert shares, "That's the word, "part." Even though there might be different parts for different businesses or different reasons, they all have to go through a pretty much same scenario to determine if a prototype can be turned from an idea to product. At EirMed, We do that. Then other things are coming into play like how many a year, the material, colors, and all that. Then you can start to fine-tune how you want to approach it." Listen as Robert shares with Justin his process and what makes EirMed a leader in this space.

  • What Makes EirMed Unique With Rick Curtis | Episode 1
    Sep 9 2020
Rick Curtis, CEO of EirMed MEdical Devices joins host Justin Starbird to talk about EirMed, its history, goals, and where the company wants to be. Rick shared with Justin that, "our goal is to create a world-class contract medical manufacturing business with the core capability around injection molding. We're using that as our starting point in our hub, and then we're looking to add additional capabilities and capacities out from that that are important and very value-added for our customers." As most CEO's will attest, the key to a successful relationship with customers, is to become a part of their team. "It really begins at the front when we're given the opportunity to be part of the development process, to be working shoulder to shoulder with their engineers and design implications of parts when we're helping to recommend the types of materials that they're going to be using for different purposes or different functions. Then we're also keeping in mind the types of volumes that we've got to manufacture for them in the way that it's got to be produced in order to deliver its functionality, but also be able to be produced at a price point that's going to work for that given application in the market." Listen as Rick shares valuable insights, company history, and what's to come for EirMed as we all navigate changes in the commercial landscape.
