Norse Mythology: The Unofficial Guide

De: Wælhræfn
  • Resumen

  • What makes Norse mythology "norse"? Why does Thor kill giants? What do the myths tell us about Loki's gender identity? The world of popular media is always happy to provide a modernized re-telling of ancient stories with a heavy scoop of creative license, but on "Norse Mythology: The Unofficial Guide", we'll dive into the original tales directly from the sources and learn together from experts in the field about what these stories really mean and how they would have affected the lives of the ancient people of the pagan north. Great Storytelling! The Gods’ Story Told Well

I especially love the way Wælhræfn begins each episode with his disclaimer of not being a “Time Traveling Norse Pagan”. The storytelling is extraordinary and well researched. While the Podcast is relatively new I have already binged every episode. You will too!

This is one of the best mythology podcasts around!

Norse Mythology: The Unofficial Guide is not only informative it's entertaining. The narrator does an excellent job of bringing the stories to life.
This is definitely one of my go-to podcasts with most episodes being the perfect length for a lunch break, a commute, or the occasional bedtime story.
My only critique is that the creator does not have a Patreon for listeners to show support.

Great podcast on learning Norse mythology!

I like stories in general and podcasts are great for when I'm busy with other things or simply want to relax.

I've listened to this podcast twice over now, going for a third time today and very pleasantly surprised that a new episode got uploaded after an year.

Please continue this series! I tried to find other mythology podcasts but couldn't find any as good as this one.
