  • Summary

  • Despite being one of the richest countries in the world, why does the United States have the highest maternal mortality rate out of all developed countries? In this episode, we talk about maternal health with Cecelia Lim, a registered nurse working with babies and parents in the NICU at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She answers that question along with giving us a glimpse into the gaps in our healthcare system before, during, and after birth. Cecelia also breaks down the stigma against midwives and doulas and emphasizes their importance to maternal care.
