  • 0012: What’s Your WHY?
    Jun 27 2024

Hey, everyone! Paisley Imperfect here with a fresh message. 🌟 Today, we’re diving into a fun topic: why do people strive to improve themselves? 🤔

I've been reflecting on the different traits we can cultivate to become our best selves. But what truly drives us to embark on this journey of self-improvement? Is it just because we’re the only ones who can do it? Or simply because life demands it? Or is it something deeper?

In this video, I share insights from my research and personal thoughts on the reasons behind self-improvement. From fulfilling personal goals to understanding our divine purpose, join me as we explore various motivations and how they shape our lives.

We'll also touch upon powerful quotes from President Nelson, Elder Patrick Kieran, and Sister Sheri L. Dew, to inspire us on our journey. 💡

  • 0011: Being A Significant Force
    Jun 25 2024

Hey everyone, Paisley Imperfect here with another thought-provoking message! 🌟

I was trying to decide which of the many things we pulled from President Nelson's talk, “A Plea to My Sisters” to start working on first and stumbled on a landing page I’d never seen before (link below). The page is titled, “The Vital Role of Women” and has six great talks on it that we should all take a good long look at. For this episode, though, I chose to look at Sharon Eubank’s talk called, “Turn On Your Light.”

Join me as we dig in a little and learn more about Sister Eubank’s main points:

    • Be Righteous
    • Be Articulate
    • Be Different
    • Be Distinct
    • Be Happy

  • 0010: Make-a-Plan Monday
    Jun 24 2024

In today's Make-a-Plan Monday we're going to dive right in and look at what's there in the Come, Follow Me plan. Remember the three D's from last time: Decide, Document, Do!

This week's chapters and talks include:

    • Alma 13
    • Alma 14
    • Alma 15
    • Alma 16
    • “Spiritual Treasures”
    • “The Priesthood and the Savior’s Atoning Power”
    • “Overcome the World and Find Rest"
    • “Infuriating Unfairness”

My goal is to read or listen to at least one chapter in Alma or one of those talks each day this week. Alma 13 and 14 are about 8 and 9 minutes (respectively), and if I combine chapters 15 and 16 that’s about 10 minutes total. That would leave me open the other nights of the week for those talks (“Infuriating Unfairness” is one of my favorites so I’m hoping to get that one in!).

This week will be a challenge because I’m working full time and have kids attending various camps, but prioritizing scripture study is key for me. I’ve got my plan documented and now it's time to execute! What’s your plan? Share it with me – I'd love to see it!

Thanks for joining – happy studying!

  • 0009: We Are Needed! Us and Our Strong Personalities!
    Jun 20 2024

Hey everyone, welcome back! 🌟 This month, we've been focusing on the theme of being still, but today, we're shifting gears. We're diving into how to harness our strong personalities, inspired by President Nelson's talk, "A Plea to My Sisters." In this episode, I’ve categorized his teachings into seven key areas: character, vision, wisdom, strength, faith, listening to the Spirit, and grit.

Join me as I break down each category a little bit more. Whether it's developing our character, using our intuition, applying our wisdom, strengthening our families, deepening our faith, listening to the Spirit, or demonstrating grit, there's so much we can learn and grow from. Let’s embark on this journey together and use our strong personalities for good.

  • 0008: Being Still and Strong
    Jun 19 2024

Hey everyone! 🌟 It's Paisley Imperfect back again, and today, we're diving into something a bit different. I've been reflecting on the idea of having a strong personality and how it's often perceived negatively. Inspired by Elder Ballard's devotional "Be Still and Know That I Am God" and President Nelson's powerful words from "A Plea to My Sisters," I realized that having a strong personality can be a blessing, not a curse. 🙌

In this video, I explore these teachings and share how we, especially as women of faith, can harness our strong personalities to make a positive impact. We'll discuss how to balance strength with happiness and how to work on personal growth together.

  • 0007: Make-a-Plan Monday
    Jun 17 2024

Hey everyone! Welcome back to our third "Make-a-Plan Monday". In today's video, I'm excited to introduce you to a concept I stumbled across this week: the Three Ds of making a plan - Decide, Document, Do. 📝✨

📌 Three Ds of Making a Plan:

    1. Decide: Look at what's available and decide what you can realistically accomplish.
    2. Document: Use a premade list or template to write down your plan and prioritize your tasks.
    3. Do: Follow through, check off your tasks, and celebrate your wins!

This week, I'll be focusing on my scripture study from June 17th to 23rd, which includes chapters Alma 8-12 from the Book of Mormon and the Come Follow Me manual.

    📅 My Weekly Plan:

    1. Decide: Check my calendar to see how much I can handle this week.
    2. Document: Use the Gospel Library app on my iPad to create a plan and prioritize my scripture reading.
    3. Do: Read or listen, check off each task, and celebrate my progress!

Join me in making a plan for this week and let's share our journeys together! What's your plan for the week? Let me know in the comments below.

Thanks for watching, and happy planning! 😊

  • 0006: 7 Tools for Building Our Personal Foundation
    Jun 13 2024

    Hi there! Paisley Imperfect again!

This month we've been exploring the theme of stillness, but today, let's shift gears and talk about building our foundation. Inspired by Elder Bednar's talk, I've been reflecting on my own spiritual foundation and what might be missing.

Building a foundation is a lifelong journey. Think of it as laying the groundwork for our heavenly mansion. We stand on this foundation every day, and while some days are better than others, our efforts are cumulative and eternal.

Today, I’ll share insights from various articles and talks, outlining essential tools to strengthen our spiritual foundations. From quality prayer and daily scripture study to selfless service and following prophetic counsel, these practices help us build an unfailing foundation.

Join me as we dive deep into these tools and remember: you are a child of God. Embrace your divine identity and continue building your foundation with faith and diligence.

  • 0005: Building Stillness in Our Foundation
    Jun 12 2024

    Hello again!

Before diving into Elder Bednar's profound talk from the recent General Conference, I need to correct an error about Alma from last week’s video. I mistakenly said that Alma the elder became the first chief judge of the Nephites, but it was actually Alma the younger. He took on the role when Mosiah’s sons chose missions over kingship. Thanks for bearing with me as I set the record straight!

Now, let’s explore Elder Bednar’s talk, “Be Still, and Know That I Am God.” This month, we’ve been focusing on finding stillness, and Elder Bednar provides valuable insights on how to create and build it. He emphasizes the importance of relying on the Savior and building our spiritual foundation on Him, referencing Helaman 5:12.

Join me as we delve deeper into what it means to be still and how we can achieve this spiritual stillness by building our lives on the rock of Jesus Christ. I'll share my personal reflections on stillness and how it aligns with Elder Bednar’s teachings.

    Key Points:

    • Correcting the Alma mistake
    • Elder Bednar’s definition of stillness
    • Building and maintaining spiritual stillness
    • Personal reflections on stillness
    • Let’s grow together in our spiritual journey. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more uplifting content.
