    Extreme Heat Warning Brace yourselves for more extreme heat. The NOAA forecasts above-average temperatures through September for Paulding County and Georgia, driven by human-caused climate change. Children, the elderly, pregnant women, outdoor workers, and those without air conditioning are most at risk.

    Sheriff’s Office Grant The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office has received over $190,000 in grants from the Institute for Health Logistics and Analytics, Georgia Southern University, and the CDC. The funds have been used to purchase air filters, cleaning supplies, new inmate mattresses, floor scrubbers, and food warming carts to improve jail conditions.

    Teacher Achievement Congratulations to Christy Howell from Connie Dugan Elementary School, selected for the Civics for All of US Summer Teacher Institute in Washington, DC. She will join educators nationwide to enhance civic teaching skills, following her participation in the 9/11 Memorial Summer Teacher Institute last year.
